kids love pop art

A few weeks ago I went to Hong Kong to see Andy Warhol exhibition 15 Minutes Eternal, and thought about to try it on my kids class. It was a great experience and it went very well.

Firstly to get the kids really excited about the artist I told them a few biographical facts, the website warhola.com is very useful, with nice vintage pictures, early works and some interesting personal information. We did some of Andy Warhol sketching and drawing.

In the following lessons I decided to spend some time doing an easy online quiz offered by the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art website, very good to keep on with Andy Warhol  and get the kids entertained in an interactive way. It was fun for me too!

And finally, we got on with it, got our hands dirty and started the real painting, I ordered from a Chinese handyman a couple of silk screenings with flowers and soup can motifs, it’s so nice how easy and cheap you can make things happen in China. The result of it you can find here below…
